Matthew 20:32-33<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo Jesus stood still and called them, and said, \u2018What do you want Me to do for you?\u2019 They said to Him, \u2018Lord, that our eyes may be opened.\u2019 \u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Don\u2019t be generic in your prayers. Be specific in the things you want God to do for you. Don\u2019t waste your prayer on vain generalities. Prayer that is too general will not get specific results. It\u2019s not a mark of spirituality to pray things like, \u201cLord, bless me, Lord help me, Lord touch me.\u201d Yes, we do need His help, His blessings and His touch, but these are only good as opening statements in prayer. We need to enter the next stage of asking for specific recognizable things, areas of our lives that when Jesus eventually touches them, it\u2019s clear that God has answered us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jesus saw that the men were blind and yet He asked, \u201cWhat do you want me to do?\u201d Jesus knows about our every need yet He wants us to verbalize and articulate our needs. If we don\u2019t know what we need, how can we give thanks when He answers? Thank God, those two blind men knew exactly what they wanted and they got what they requested. Our Lord is faithful and once we earnestly ask concerning our genuine needs, I believe He will have mercy on us and help us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cLord, I tend to be too generic in my prayers but whenever I am specific, I notice, Lord, that You answer specifically. Please remind me to keep doing this. In Your name, I pray.
