\u2018Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there, for the famine was severe in the land.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I refuse to go down to Egypt. I refuse. Yes, there may be famine in the land but I will not stoop DOWN to Egypt. Egypt is a place of bondage and worldliness, and I will not enter into any form of captivity so as to survive or escape famine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If I go to Egypt, I will do so because of God\u2019s instruction and it will not be going down to enter bondage but going down to free souls from bondage. The reason one goes into Egypt is important. Don\u2019t go to Egypt because of famine. Don\u2019t go to Egypt because you need Egypt. Don\u2019t go to Egypt to dwell. In this case, Abram had to lie about his wife, and although God plagued Pharaoh\u2019s house for taking Sarai, it was Abram\u2019s fault for acting like the people of Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018O Father, deliver me from going down to Egypt. May my heart never be pulled to Egypt for any reason. No matter the condition or situation, may I trust in God and never return to the house of bondage. In Jesus name.
