\u2018Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Riches is not a problem. Riches can be a problem if not managed right, but this does not mean that riches is of itself, a problem. We see here that Abram, the father of faith, was a very wealthy man indeed. He was rich in livestock, rich in silver, rich in gold, but also rich in servants. He was not an average person regarding worldly goods and properties. These things, however, did not diminish or reduce his faith and passion for God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That\u2019s the real test of wealth. If wealth changes you, then you are not prepared for it. If wealth is seen as a tool for use by God, then you are simply a steward of God\u2019s grace to others. So wealth is needful and useful if found in the right hands. If placed in the wrong hands, however, wealth can diminish and destroy your faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So let\u2019s not fight wealth but desire the grace to manage and utilize wealth for its God-given purpose, and this we must do without wealth hurting us in any way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018Lord, I do not want any wealth that will draw my heart away from You. If You choose to make me a custodian of Your earthly riches, then please do a mighty work of safeguarding my heart from its alluring appeals; for only in this way can I be Your faithful steward of Your resources.
