\u201cSo she said, \u2018Drink, my lord.\u2019 Then she quickly let her pitcher down to her hand, and gave him a drink. And when she had finished giving him a drink, she said, \u2018I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking.’\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Home training is an irreplaceable asset. Many do not realize how important it is to train up your child in \u201cthe way he or she should go.\u201d Training involves a lot of emphasizing of the same disciplines again and again until the child imbibes those values as his own and can operate those values without prompting. General training includes religious training, but religious training does not ordinarily equate to general training. We must train our children in all kinds of disciplines, going far beyond the spiritual disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rebekah had been trained well. She had been \u201cschooled\u201d in the disciplines of hospitality. She knew what to do when she saw a stranger; she knew what to say and how to respond. Her mother had schooled her well, and she was able to carry herself well before this stranger; not knowing that her proper responses were the indices needed to usher her into her destiny and covenant with God\u2019s people, through which she would become one of the grandmothers of Jesus Himself. Wow!<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOh Lord, help us train our children well. Oh Lord, help us to invest in grooming and schooling the younger generation around us. Oh Lord, help us learn from the disciplines taught us by our elders. It would seem that our destiniesmay just may be connected to how well we do these.
