Because of His covenant with Abraham, God diligently ordered the steps of Abraham’s servants and fulfilled his expectations by directly leading him to the lady prepared for Abraham’s son. It was so clear that the mercy he received was not because of himself but because of God’s commitment to Abraham. With such a profound experience, his only response was predictable- WORSHIP!

Worship is the humble acknowledgment that you have received a mercy that you do not deserve. Worship occurs when God extends a blessing to a life that has no basis for receiving that blessing. We are called to worship the God who continues to lead us and bless us because of His commitment to Jesus. I adore Him because I know I am but a useless and broken vessel having no value in myself but experiencing rich and profound blessings entirely unconnected with my level of personal piety. Just as with Abraham’s servant, God cherishes me because of whose name I bear. I worship because of the mercy that flows to me from the Father, through Jesus.

“Yes Lord, I worship because of the lavishness of God’s mercies poured out on me, because of Jesus.
