Genesis 25:1 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the death of Sarah, Abraham married Keturah and had other children by her. Now some may say that he shouldn\u2019t have, if indeed he loved his wife, Sarah. But that would be an unfair judgment. The Patriarch Abraham had a need for a woman as a physical and emotional companion, and he had a right to remarry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Re-marriage is better than adultery. When a spouse dies and the living desires to remarry, this must not be denied him or her. It must be his or her choice to so do, and this may be a healthy development for the living spouse. If the man or woman chooses not to remarry, that also is okay, but the decision should primarily be that of the individual. The person\u2019s decision must be respected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the death of a spouse, do not forbid the living to remarry because marriage is of God. I repeat, marriage is of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes Lord, give us hearts to respect the wishes of the widow or widower in our midst. Do not allow us to impose our desires upon them. You are their Lord. Lead them in the path of Your will.
