Genesis 26:12-14 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous\u2026So the Philistines envied him.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blessings are good but dangerous. There is not a man who has prospered and did not have to deal with the sting of envy. Envious people will always send their poisons to anyone whom God has chosen to bless. Knowing this as a fact and reality, I must prepare myself for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Isaac sowed in the time of famine and got a hundred fold return. That must have amazed everyone. And then he kept prospering as the Lord kept increasing him, and thus became a problem to others. Am sure they fumed: \u201cWhy should he be the one to thrive? Why aren\u2019t we also prospering like him? Why does he alone enjoy so much favor?\u201d So they began to attack him. They found ways to frustrate him and to slow down his growth. They stopped his wells and covered them. When he dug new wells, they claimed it as theirs. But the man kept prospering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If God blesses you, expect men to fight you. But be sure of this, God\u2019s blessings on your life cannot be strangulated by the malicious and devious actions of jealous people. Keep your focus on God and don\u2019t focus on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFather, I have suffered much from this, but I have failed to keep my eyes on You alone. I have looked at the people and listened to their envious words.
