Genesis 27:32 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd his father Isaac said to him, \u2018Who are you?\u2019 So he said, \u2018I am your son, your firstborn, Esau.’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Esau was a strange man indeed. Yes, while it seemed unfair that Jacob schemed away the patriarchal blessings meant for him, yet Esau was quick to forget that he was no longer the heir nor the first born. Esau had conveniently forgotten that he had \u201cdespised his birthright\u201d and was no longer the legitimate one to receive the prayer of the first-born. So it was strange he still referred to himself as the firstborn son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWho are you?\u201d is a painful question when you expect the answer to be obvious!! Our actions done in the past can be very painful when they reflect in the future. We must therefore always be diligent to erase actions in the past that could jeopardize our blessings in the future. Esau had made no attempt to redress the selling of his birthright. He foolishly expected that his action that day in the past would just go away and would have no impact on his future. Such presumption. So even though he cried and blamed Jacob for \u201cstealing his birthright,\u201d that accusation was not altogether correct. His actions had set the stage for destiny to react.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our actions in the past can define our destiny in the future. Watch your actions today. Analyze your actions yesterday. Don\u2019t be surprised about your future tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHoly Spirit, by the blood of Jesus, erase all negative implications from my foolish past on my preferred future destiny. The blood of Christ is sufficient to delete and repair my evil past and I pray it shall be so, by faith in the work of Christ\u2019s atonement.
