Genesis 29:32 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSo Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, \u201cThe Lord has surely looked on my affliction. Now therefore, my husband will love me.\u201d\u2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although Leah had delicate eyes and was obviously not as beautiful as Rachel, she was conceiving and bearing children while Rachel wasn\u2019t. But all these blessings meant nothing to her. WHY? Because she needed her husband: his attention, his love, his affirmation. And after having two more children for him and not receiving her heart desires, she had her last child and called him Judah, meaning \u201cNow I will praise the Lord!\u201d I believe Leah had caught a revelation from God with the birth of Judah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We must live beyond the need for human affirmation. Yes, we live amongst men, and their affirmation matters a lot, but we must live beyond it. We must never become addicted to or live for it. Despite whatever we may consider as our limitations or personal weaknesses, look closely, and we will see that we do have some blessings that other folks don\u2019t have. I must come to the point of seeing God\u2019s blessings in my life beyond the seeming lack or weaknesses in me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I belong to the tribe of Judah. I will praise the Lord in whatever circumstance I find myself. I must see the goodness of the Lord even in my deficient situation. And I must live in total dependence on His affirmation alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
