Genesis 31:1 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNow Jacob heard the words of Laban\u2019s sons, saying, \u2018Jacob has taken away all that was our father\u2019s, and from what was our father\u2019s he has acquired all this wealth.’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Jacob was serving Laban and increasing the flocks, what were the sons doing? Rather than labor for their father, Laban\u2019s sons sat aside and let another take over the running of the herds and the flocks. Then what right did they have to complain afterward? They did not get involved, and he who got involved prospered and increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Don\u2019t let others replace your sons in the responsibilities at home and in your enterprise. Don\u2019t let your children sit idly by enjoying the proceeds of your labor while they do not engage in producing those proceeds. Children who do not sweat in the affairs of the family will only have an entitlement mentality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether daughters or sons, get them actively involved in the affairs of the family lest a stranger receive the blessings that are due to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
