Genesis 45:4-5 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd Joseph said to his brothers, \u2018Please come near to me.\u2019 So they came near. Then he said: \u2018I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here\u2026’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joseph had such a generous heart. Although he rightly identified the crime done against him (\u201cyou sold me into Egypt\u201d), but he also said, \u201cplease come near to me\u2026don\u2019t be grieved or angry with yourselves.\u201d What type of heart is this? Imagine the scenario: Here was Joseph providing comfort to his brothers for the sinful acts they committed against him. Can you imagine that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the same way, can we so love those who have hurt and offended us? Can we find grace to comfort them and draw them near to us, even when they fear and grieve because of their treacherous actions against us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It takes a heart overwhelmed by God to so believe and so behave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
