{"id":5767,"date":"2019-05-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-13T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.org\/?p=5767"},"modified":"2024-10-08T11:36:07","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T11:36:07","slug":"concentrate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.org\/index.php\/2019\/05\/13\/concentrate\/","title":{"rendered":"CONCENTRATE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Life is so fast fleeting away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t keep putting away what must be done today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The spirituality you so desire is available today,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If only you will concentrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The books you need to read to nurture your soul,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can be done today,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If only you will concentrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That inner peace you long for is at your arms reach,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If only you will concentrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The greatest wickedness of our generation is distraction,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So you end up doing what is not your priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s the craftiness of hell for our season:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s to keep men busy and pursuing those things that lead into the swamps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then we\u2019ll one day awake in eternity wondering why we lived in shallowness,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And why we failed to achieve God\u2019s divine purposes for our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concentrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outline His priorities for your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Live in inward quietness for this is needful for clarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Live in inward quietness and find the tranquility to see ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It takes inner concentration to embrace God\u2019s mind,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And pursue God\u2019s heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Multiple scattering activities is the cancer of our days,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A cancer that keeps spreading its poisons into our very soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch the inwardly focused man,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the delights of God are His portion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch the inwardly focused man and he makes great strides in God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch the inwardly focused man and He is no ordinary man,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For even in the things of the earth,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is never rushed by seeming emergencies,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowing that the sovereignty of God super-intends over all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He pursues excellence and sharpness and productivity,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And is not given to mediocrity,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because he has known how to keep his eyes on the priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t run up and down with the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The world is vain and all the world systems are vain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Engage the world because its needful to be productive here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Engage the world because it\u2019s needful to serve humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But don\u2019t engage the world in a frenzy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t allow the engagement with the world consume your focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t let the world determine your daily priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why it\u2019s critical for the spiritual man to learn the discipline of focus;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inward focus and concentration,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For only thereby will he experience and enjoy alignment with God,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daily exercising the disciplines of focus on the needful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus is our supreme example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He never lived a rushed life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He had an understanding of what was needful for each moment,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And even if He was misunderstood by many,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It did not change His lifestyle or daily habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He refused to be dictated to by the urgent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He lived only in the guidance of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a carpenter, am sure He did what all carpenters did;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet I am persuaded that even at that,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He always lived in the inner quietness of the divine,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For being a carpenter was not His identity but His humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As humans, there are duties we must undertake,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But we must not let those duties become our reasons for living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Develop inner concentration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nurture quietness in your spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guard your soul against the cancer of scatteredness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For it is only in the practice of these subtle virtues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can your life and the divine life merge into one holy being,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the purposes of God begin to unfold and manifest before men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concentrate on God and His mind,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And your life will have the meaning, purpose and direction that counts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Life is so fast fleeting away.
