{"id":5786,"date":"2019-06-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-06-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.org\/?p=5786"},"modified":"2024-10-08T12:08:07","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T12:08:07","slug":"of-entanglements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/restlesspilgrim.org\/index.php\/2019\/06\/24\/of-entanglements\/","title":{"rendered":"OF ENTANGLEMENTS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Life is full of entanglements,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I must be strong to free myself from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So many things seem so crucial,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While in reality, they are not actually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To please my Master,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I must flee many things;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I must disassociate my heart from some life entanglements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many things are desirable,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But they are not needful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I can survive without many things,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And still be happy without them,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only if I can see them as entanglements,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Encumbrances really;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Distractions from keeping a pure focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My life is so short,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And my primary desire is singular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Love my Master and do His bidding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whatever will limit this singular passion,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is of the devil;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An entanglement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All my heart\u2019s desire is to love purely,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And serve purely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I must therefore daily discern what is needful to this pursuit,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And what is not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a daily warfare to detect the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is pleasure wrong?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are comforts wrong?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certainly not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is enjoying the things of life wrong?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course not!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But living for pleasure, comfort and enjoyment is wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pursuing these things will only encumber your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chasing these things is like living to trap the wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All your efforts will end in vanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I want to be free to focus on Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s the joy of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My joy will never come from these distractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My joy comes from pure undiluted adoration of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And when He gives me earthly pleasures to enjoy,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I want to enjoy them in worship of Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any pleasure that becomes a focus in itself is an idol,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An entanglement, an evil ploy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once pleasures lead me deeper into worship &amp; adoration,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then it\u2019s serving its rightful purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Detect all things that serve contrary,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And be strong against such showing no mercy whatsoever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because life is so short,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Giving space to diverse distractions is wasting your precious life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can\u2019t afford to give in to seducing spirits that confuse;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can\u2019t afford to allow low level demonic activity dampen you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Love God and serve Him supremely is your life purpose;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anything or anyone that competes with this purpose,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is a thief and a robber,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An entanglement from hell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of such, fight off with the last breath you have.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Life is full of entanglements, And I must be strong to free myself from them.
