All is vanity<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Position, power, success, a great name, respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All is nothing without love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the chips are down, all we need is love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We look for it in a big name, but find love isn\u2019t the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We look for it in great possessions, but lo, it\u2019s not there either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We look for it in societal recognition, but it\u2019s not the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All of man\u2019s life is in search for love:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Love that accepts,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Love that\u2019s unconditional,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Love that affirms,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Love that believes; that speaks of faith and trust in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All of mankind is searching for love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLord, that\u2019s all I want too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s all I need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I want love so desperately but I can\u2019t find it here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can\u2019t find what am looking for amongst men,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I sense that You\u2019re doing this intentionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think You want me to feel this vacuum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only You Lord, knows me deep enough to love me deep enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only You can see my faults and cracks the way You do, and still love me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Others love me for a season and as my humanity begins to show up,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They turn and flee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The beautiful picture they had of me is shattered,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once they come close enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They suddenly smell some of my humanness and turn their backs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They withhold their love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They go in search of one deserving of their love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut You love me Lord as I am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For this reason, I need to cling to You and no other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Others will come and go, but You remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Others will be disappointed in me but You accept me and hide me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s why I can\u2019t follow another One.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only You can do, what no man can do to me and in me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBecause You have loved me so,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, give me the heart to so love others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because men are frail and will fail me,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, teach me to quickly forgive and give people a second chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That which I want so much from people:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(Continuos, passionate, unconditional love);<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, fill my heart with the same levels of love to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Strengthen me to serve and affirm and encourage others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Help me make room for them to try again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teach me not to cut people off because they don\u2019t meet my expectation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since I don\u2019t desire such from others,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May I not give same to others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am a failure in love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve set very hard and tough standards for myself and for those with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, I desire excellence in all things,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I need also to be soft so as to help the struggling amongst us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May I learn what it means to love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May God teach me how I am expected to build affirming relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May I grow beyond where I am, to where I ought to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am a failure in love, but I have hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because the God of love has not given up on me,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I will not give up on myself either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My hope is in God,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In God\u2019s ability to shape and mould my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For this reason, I will not give up on myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I desperately need loads of love and acceptance;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And as I find it in Christ, and I am shaped by it,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May I also stop being so cynical and critical and negative;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But may I begin to have a positive, affirming and embracing spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May this change happen with me quickly,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So that I may begin this new page in my journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
