I\u2019m still in shock. Just got off the phone with a dear brother. He said that he slept on the same bed with his wife last night and even this morning\u2014everything was normal. Then suddenly she cried out, \u201cDaddy, Daddy, my eyes are turning me.\u201d And then she passed out\u2026and died\u2026right there. In his arms. Unexpected. Unannounced. Hmm!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beloved, this is not to create fear or weaken faith\u2014but we don\u2019t have tomorrow; we only have today. Oh, such a lovely and wonderful sister. She\u2019s gone. Yes, most probably she\u2019s with Jesus now and rejoicing in the glories of Christ but\u2014how suddenly her departure was for us here. She\u2019s gone without pre-warning leaving a perplexed husband and young children. This is part of the mystery called \u201clife on earth.\u201d Irrespective of your level of spirituality, you only have today. Never forget this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John 9:4, \u201cI must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this your day, please keep short accounts, pay up your debts, love your family, forgive everyone, forgive yourself, serve God sacrificially, stop all procrastination, live consecrated, live life fully in God, don\u2019t live another man\u2019s destiny (live yours)\u2014and live without regrets. Live in your day before your night comes, and this could be anytime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My dear sister has gone suddenly. It\u2019s a time for me to reflect afresh on the truths I know about the brevity of life. One thing I know: I only have today and I don\u2019t know about tomorrow.
