Psalms 4:1 (NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The greatest mercy God can show me is to hear my prayers. When God hears me that is a mercy to me. The greatest tragedy that can happen to me is that I pray but He refuses to listen. So the daily cry of my heart is that God shows me mercy by listening to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Distresses are a normal part of living and those who deny this, live in falsehood. It\u2019s unimaginable to think of existence without some form of stress. Like cold water is to a thirsty soul, so is God\u2019s relief from Above to a man in distress. There cannot be a greater mercy than to know that in my distress, God is actually listening to me. This in itself is a step of relief from my pain. Agony is multiplied when I am in distress and I have no assurance that God is listening to me. It\u2019s better to die than to live in such a state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Praise be to God who assures us of His listening ear, in our days of loneliness and distress. Never forget: He is listening. Even now. So speak up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018O God of my righteousness, you see the many distresses that life brings upon me. It\u2019s not because I am evil but it\u2019s because life in itself is stressful. I cry to you O God, hear the cry of my heart and show me mercy by sending me relief. O God, if you are silent to me, then I am a wasted soul. Hear my cry for mercy and answer speedily.
