Put simply, the blessings of God will continue from one generation to the next if the incoming generation manages them well.

God’s blessings can be squandered, and they are often squandered by the very people entrusted with them. God’s pattern is for generational blessings to be continuous and transferable, but this is not automatic. It’s fully conditional on people.

If a new generation is blessed with wise men and women, they will preserve God’s grace and favors through their wise decisions. If the new generation is careless and frivolous, they may inadvertently destroy the inheritance entrusted to them.

Wisdom is known by actions, and wise actions uphold, promote, and secure continuity of legacy. Unwise actions destroy and break stewardship, leaving the next generation deprived of the blessings and values that could have been theirs.

Solomon was a wise King. He understood the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. He knew he needed to manage his stewardship well. He realized that the trust his father had entrusted to him was sacred and must not be broken.

Hiram had never met Solomon before, but he understood stewardship. Hiram knew David and had seen David in action. He knew David’s capacity, capability, and shrewdness. He may have wondered if his son could secure David’s legacy.

However, when he heard Solomon’s words and knew his plans, Hiram burst into praising God. He could not contain his joy and relief. He was overwhelmed with gladness because he saw that David’s legacy would be maintained by his wise son.

Wisdom is what preserves legacy. What we have received will only be sustained by wise decisions. The Church of God in any generation cannot be greater than the wisdom it possesses to manage its stewardship. The same applies to family legacy as well.

We must pray for wisdom for this generation and for the next. We must pray for wisdom to rightly steward God’s grace. We must pray that the baton of truth and glory does not fall from our hands or the hands of those coming after us.

Pray for yourself. Pray for your children. The Church has lost momentum because unwise people dropped the baton handed to them. May heaven rejoice over our children and over us as we rightly manage divine stewardship. Amen.

@ChineduOranye
RestlessPilgrim.org

1 Kings 5:7 (NKJV)“So it was, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly and said, Blessed be the LORD this day, for He has given David a wise son over this great people!” The key to perpetuating the blessings of God in any generation is found in the substance of the […]

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

68,1
70,71
post-7971","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-1-kings","category-blog","tag-blog","tag-reflection-from-1-kings
["GET
