1 Kings 5:8 (NKJV)
\u201cThen Hiram sent to Solomon, saying: I have considered the message which you sent me, and I will do all you desire concerning the cedar and cypress logs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are called to live in interdependent relationships. We cannot live life as lone rangers. We need helpers. Life becomes oppressive and hopeless without human beings who commit to walking with us, especially through difficult times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God never intended that we would accomplish His purposes alone. Even for Adam, He sent a human helper suitable for him. There is nobody who is self-sufficient. Knowing this, how should we act and relate to people?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, know that God has stored resources and help for you in other people. In humility, acknowledge your need for them and don\u2019t try to work things out on your own. This is foolishness. This is operating outside God\u2019s will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondly, reach out to people whom you sense have the gifts, talents, and resources you need. Remember, not everything you need may be tangible or physical. They could be emotional or otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thirdly, pray that your God-sent helpers will be willing and ready to respond to you when you approach them. This is where you need discernment to know who to approach. Don\u2019t give up if you are rebuffed. Maybe you approached the wrong person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God has stored what you need in human bodies across the world. This is a fact of life and a fact of God\u2019s goodness. He does this intentionally so that human beings don\u2019t live in isolation from each other. Align with God\u2019s plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solomon reached out to Hiram for the cedars that he needed to build the temple. He made the right choice in speaking with Hiram because God had prepared Hiram for him. Hiram responded positively and excitedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hiram said, \u201cI will do all you desire.\u201d That is a God-sent messenger. He did not debate it. He did not refuse it. He did not fight it. He knew it was his duty to provide the wood Solomon needed, and he rose to the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May God give you the discernment to see and know your God-sent messengers. May these messengers respond positively to you when you approach them. May God never allow you to struggle in silence, but to humbly reach out when necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May you also be a God-sent messenger to someone else. Hiram said to Solomon, \u201cYou shall fulfill my desire by giving food for my household.\u201d He, too, had a need. That is how community works. Don\u2019t only wait to be served. Be an answer to someone else\u2019s prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
