‘Honor thy father and thy mother means listen to them and obey them. If I honor God, then I am obliged to listen to Him and obey Him at all times. Do I really honor God? Is His heart and desires my heart and desires? Honoring. Person requires discipline and dexterity. It is not a light word to choose to honor the Lord your God. I know for a struggle to honor Him in my daily actions and daily thinking. It’s for honor that I was saved; that the very breath of my mouth may honor Him. Honor leaders and kings but never let the honoring of men bring you into any form of conflict with honoring God; and whenever it does, the honoring of men must give way to the honor of God; for man is but transient and the honor we give men is also transient and vain. But the honor we give God lasts for eternity because nothing of God dies or diminishes in value or order. Honoring God therefore stores up for yourself also a reward that does not fade away because Him to whom the honor is accorded lives forever. Honor God and it shall be well with you forever.’
