GOD HITS BACK

Psalms 2:4-5 (NKJV)

‘He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure’

God sits in the heavens (far above all principalities and powers) and from there, God responds to the conspiracy of men and spirits. There are four ways God responds.

Firstly, God laughs at their ignorance and their thinking and their scheming. ‘Do they really still think they can overpower the Almighty?’ He wonders. Then God despises them and holds them in derision and disdain, for even trying to overthrow Him. He is disgusted that they even tried to upstage Him. Thirdly God sends His Word to them (the double edged sword) by addressing them directly. And finally, God distresses them because He is not pleased with them.

God is unhappy at the conspiracies against Him and God is determined to make an open show of their foolishness. So do not fret or fear because of the ranting of the enemy. God will surely respond to them, even shortly. Be at peace. Since God is not moved, neither should we.

‘Lord, teach me to wait for your response because you will respond to my enemies. You will deal swiftly with them because you hold them in derision. You see their scheming and their conspiracies, and I know you are bidding your time to deal decisively with them. Teach me, therefore, to have peace as you speak to my enemies at the gates. Amen.’
