NEVER FAILING GOD

Psalms 3:3-4 (NKJV)

‘But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill.’

God is my ever-reliable partner, the love of my life, the one surety I know I have in this life. How can I love and trust another when this God is so generous to me? There are four things God is to me and does for me, and these ensure that I do not look for any other because there cannot be another like Him who fulfills these four wonders in me.

Firstly, God is my shield. He is the One who is my constant defense against the darts and wrath of the enemy, even when I don’t see the darts coming. Secondly, He is my glory; He hides my shame and covers it with His glory, so when men see me, they don’t see the shame of my life but the glory of God. Thirdly, He lifts up my head when I am defeated, dejected and disillusioned. He lifts me and places me on a higher ground. He never leaves me battered and shattered but He restores and renews. Finally, He hears my cries. When I am overwhelmed, I know where to cry without feeling ashamed and He always hears me. Hallelujah.

‘Lord, you are the love of my life. I have loved others and still love others, but none can get close to you because of whom you are and the gracious things you’ve done for me. You’ve protected, you’ve defended, you’ve lifted me up, you’ve granted me your glory, you’ve answered my cry- again and again and again. Praise be to your holy name. No! I cannot look for another or compare you with another. You are more than sufficient for me. Amen.’
