‘LEAD ME STRAIGHT LORD’

Psalms 5:8 (NKJV)

‘Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way straight before my face.’

How we so much need God’s leadership by His Spirit. If the Lord does not lead us, our enemies will get the better of us. Because we don’t see or understand the full scope of the enemy’s battalions poised against us, we sometimes tend to be careless. If only we knew all the traps and deceptions that have been laid out against us, we would have thought it wise to earnestly seek His leadership.

And because of the effects of the fallen nature, we many times find it difficult to discern His path. But again the cry of our hearts to the Lord is that, because of the rage of our enemies all around us, that He helps us easily see His straight path, so we do not meander around and maybe get trapped by our enemies.

‘Lord your ways are always straight but we do not always see them. We are sometimes blinded by our self-life or by the things around us. But Lord, I can’t afford not to see your straight path. I can’t afford to go round and round in circles. Have mercy on me in your righteousness and show me your straight path, lest I fall into the wrong path; thinking am in your path and thereby end up in the hands of my adversary. Please do this for me. In Jesus name.’
