‘Your world O Lord is all around me, but I need to grow in spiritual receptivity and spiritual immediacy to the divine invitation. You are constantly inviting me upward and deeper, but the physical world is too close and too loud for me. Help me respond to You. Help me to cultivate the disciplines that the saints of old had, those disciplines that enabled them to grow into those spiritual encounters that are currently beyond my spiritual experience. I cannot remain blind when such a rich world of heavenly realities surrounds me. I cannot stay hungry when the Almighty invites me to His banquet. I know Lord that You are not responsible for my bankruptcy, but I desperately need Your help to grow deeper.
The desire is there; now I ask for the grace to stay focused and steady as You lead me to discern and encounter You in ways I’ve never done before. This will be my paradise, my exquisite joy, my overwhelming fulfillment, even as I grow to see and know and experience my Father, who is the Almighty God. This I pray, will happen to me quickly, in Jesus name.’
