Genesis 1:25 (NKJV)

‘…and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.’

There were several types of creeping animals but they were described as ‘everything that creeps’. But they were all different, as different as the snake could be from the worm. Yet they were all creeping animals and each expected to reproduce, but not according to the broad category of creeping animals but according to the unique subset kind in the larger family of creeping animals.

The same thing applies to us. Although we may all bear the same regenerated image of Christ, we have been granted unique gifts and ministries and burdens for life; and as we have been infused with different heaven-endorsed priorities, we are called to reproduce according to that kind. For example, God expects those He called into the world of business to reproduce the fragrance of Christ within that world and to raise up more Christ-centered business moguls in that world. There are others called into the world of art, academia, politics and so forth. Each must reproduce and multiply the ‘Kind Of Christ’ within the secular ‘Kind Of Service’. Fruit-bearing and multiplication is expected of all of God’s children irrespective of their area of calling and placement.

Are you multiplying your kind in your world?

‘Lord, never allow me to rest on my oars until I am spreading your fragrance rapidly in my world. Help me embrace the uniqueness of my personality, priorities and pilgrimage and to seek to reproduce you with these in mind. This I ask through Christ Jesus. Amen.
