Genesis 2:7 (NKJV)
‘And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.’
Until the breath of God enters a man, he is not yet alive. The breath of God is the Spirit of God and unless God’s Spirit practically indwells you, you may have the form of a man and yet be completely dead. May we never be satisfied with the form of any situation, not even the form of living. Church forms and religious obligations (good as they may be) are all dead and useless, without the breath of God. The greatest need of man is the breath of God.
O! How we duplicate activities and increase programs, without the breath of God. How we increase rules and laws to guide and control human behavior; when all we need is the breath of God. O! It’s amazing how lifelessness can suddenly become abundant life when God breathes on it. What do we desire: more effort or more results? If it is results we want, then let’s reduce multiplied work and increase focus on seeking the heavenly visitation. Church programs do not give life; God gives life. He can do this in church meetings but we must never equate religious meetings with receiving life from God. In seeking, seek above all else, seek the breath of God in your nostrils and the nostrils of those you love. This is the only pursuit worth everything.
‘Lord, I don’t want the form or the name that I am alive; I want the actual fullness of your Spirit within me. Deliver me from dead spiritual programs and multiplied human efforts at righteousness. Teach me to wait and to thirst and to run after your Spirit, for only therein will I find the life I so earnestly seek. Please, Lord, help me. Am desperate. Amen.’
