SEEK GOD’S VISION

Genesis 5:29 (NKJV)

‘And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.”’

Lamech was a good and hardworking man but he was also a struggling man. He needed comfort and he sought the comfort from the wrong quarters. He hoped and desired that his son would bring him the comfort that only God could give. He designed a program for his son that was out of sync with God’s plan for Noah. The curse was from God. The toil and work were the results of the curse. The comfort, therefore, must come from God alone, not his son.

Don’t turn your children into solutions for your toil. We sometimes put so much pressure on our children, desiring them to be whom God had not intended them to be. They were not given to us to solve our problems. Each child has a heavenly assignment and parents must seek God’s face for each child. In God’s plan, Noah was to bring salvation to all creation through the Ark; but Lamech had a vision only for his family. May we release our children to become all that God has earmarked for them because God’s vision will always outpace our vision for our children.

‘Lord, I release my children into your hands. I confess and acknowledge that they are not here to meet my personal needs but to fulfill the purposes of God. As I have prayed before, my uttermost desire for them is that they become all you have intended them to be. Please, Lord; give me the courage to release them and the discernment to know when to do so. While they remain under my care, grant me the wisdom to groom them to seek you and to release themselves into your purposes. This I pray, in Jesus name. Amen.’
