Genesis 7:2 (NKJV)
“You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female;”
I would have thought that having a chance to start all over again, God would not have picked any unclean animal for reproduction. But that’s not God. Yes, He chose more clean animals than unclean but He still permitted the unclean to exist with the clean. This only goes to show that while on earth, God will never allow us to live a ‘temptation free life’. There will always be something unclean to tempt us and provoke us and to prove our loyalty to remain clean.
Expecting a world without the unclean is living in a fool’s paradise. The weeds will always grow with the wheat, until the final day of separation. The matured man understands that the unclean are necessary to differentiate the clean, for without the unclean, how can we know the clean. So let’s grow up and stop complaining about the unclean. God has allowed them for a season. Just ensure you stay clean in the midst of the unclean.
‘Lord, deliver me from living an unrealistic dream. Help me to live with the knowledge that the unclean will always be nigh, and I must live above it not expect them not to exist. Give me the maturity to handle and live around the unclean, while remaining clean. This I pray, in Jesus name. Amen.’
