DON’T RUSH OUT!

April 7, 2017

Genesis 8:12 (NKJV)

‘So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.’

Don’t rush out. Yes, the rains have stopped and yes, it’s not comfortable where you are, but don’t rush out of the stage where God placed you. When God has signaled your term is over, move out cautiously and deliberately. Noah ventured out slowly, sending out the Raven and then the Dove. He waited seven days and then another seven days, just to be sure, before venturing out.

God may have brought your temporary captivity to an end but move out with God and not before God. There is a timing factor for the establishment of God’s agenda for you to enter into the new phase He has prepared for you. Leaving prematurely could lead to your loss.

Wait till you’re sure the surface of the ground is clear before you move out, but most importantly, wait for directions from God to move out. Noah waited until God spoke to Noah saying, ‘Go out of the ark…’- verse 16.

‘Lord, deliver me from presumptions. Deliver me from wilful thinking and human decision making outside of your timing. Help me to learn to wait for your timing, for your agenda and for your procedures. Help me not to jump out of or jump into something prematurely. I need the discipline to wait, Lord. Amen.’
