Genesis 14:20 (NKJV)

‘”And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.’

Here was a priest who had nothing but his priesthood and who was previously unknown, and yet he pronounced blessings on the patriarch Abram- who had all the promises of God. Is that not amazing? Abram had much wealth, had a victorious army and had just returned with much plunder from the spoils of war, and yet he surrendered to be blessed by a mere unknown priest. It would have seemed that Abram was in a much better position that Melchizedek; but not so. The role of the priest is to pronounce blessings upon those whom heaven hath commanded blessings; and this important position, no man takes it upon himself.

Stay as a priest. Live as a priest. Be an active priest. Focus on your priesthood. And without doing anything else or manipulating anyone, the resources of God will come to you. Melchizedek never asked for a tithe or for anything else for that matter. However, Abram, moved by God, gave a tithe of everything to this strange priest, who simply did his priestly duty by blessing a man heaven asked him to bless. Be God’s priest in His world and pronounce God’s blessings on those that God commands you to. As you so do, even God’s blessings will likewise locate you.

‘I agree to this and I will abide by this principle Lord. I will not speak blessing on just anyone but only on those whom You’ve commanded me to. I know that in simply obeying You, my own blessings will also come to me. Amen.’
