Genesis 15:13 (NKJV)
‘Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.”‘
Before God could begin to reveal these deep secrets about the future, Abram had been asking questions and been willing to enter into the more profound encounter with God. There is a deeper place with God, a place where the horror of God mixes with the sweet voice of God. It’s indeed a strange mix but in such a depth, the mind of God is revealed, and secrets of the future can be leaked out.
Do you desire to enter into a knowledge of God’s purpose for your future? Do you want a peep into God’s plan for your descendants? Do you want God to reveal to you the challenges ahead of you? Do you even want an understanding of how and when you will depart from this earth? Then seek to enter deeper. Don’t be satisfied with what others are satisfied with. There is more to be experienced in the presence of God. Lay your sacrifices in the right order. Ward off the vultures. Release yourself to sleep. Enter the oppressing fearful horror of God’s presence. And then wait for His voice.
‘I wait for Your voice Lord. I have been too busy with life to wait for Your voice. To know myself and Your future for me requires I wait to hear You. Take me deeper into Your presence Lord, for all of my destiny is tied to Your presence. Amen Lord. Amen.’
