STAY CLOSE TO YOUR SPOUSE

Genesis 18:10 (NKJV)

‘…Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.’

Sarah was out of sight, but she was part of the discussion from afar. She was listening attentively to her husband’s conversation with the Angels. I sense that this was not a one-off thing but may have been her practice. She didn’t see her role as simply to cook the food and entertain the strangers. She needed to know who they were and what their agenda was.

Stay close to your spouse. Listen in and be part of their conversations. In listening, you may have the opportunity to provide counsel or warning. As a practice, ensure that what your spouse does is part of your business. Don’t be satisfied with kitchen ministries or develop your ‘unique’ ministry outside the reach of your spouse. God may be pronouncing a blessing on you through your spouse, so stay connected. Listen in. And if not present, ask questions afterward.

‘May my wife and I remain totally transparent to each other, even as we currently are, in Jesus name. May my wife always remember that whatever God is saying to me, He is saying to her, and I will never hide anything from her. Keep our hearts always knit together, in Jesus name. Amen.’
