ERASE OLD DATA

June 6, 2017

Genesis 19:32 (NKJV)

‘Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve the lineage of our father.”’

It’s possible to leave Sodom physically, but Sodom remains in our hearts. It’s feasible to flee the present judgment but the decay in your heart still earmarks you for judgment. Escape the ways of sin in your community because if it enters your heart, the defilement will follow you and lead you into doing some crazy things. These young ladies had seen the ways of Sodom and embraced it. They hadn’t practiced it before now, but they had liked it. And when an opportunity came, what they had seen, known and loved found expression.

Guard your heart with all diligence and carefully monitor what you allow into it. The heart stores and preserves data and must be protected at all costs. Deleting old stored info is not easy, but it’s doable. If we don’t erase the old, it will come out and haunt us in another form and on a day when we least expect it. Old info can come alive with such speed and strength that we become overpowered in the day of weakness. We must, therefore, seek not to internalize wrong models and corrupt information as well as actively strive to uproot those corrupt files already saved on our internal hard disk.

‘Jesus, override every old stored info for me please. Your Word says old things are passed away but this comes with the daily renewing of the mind. Jesus, grant me the grace and discipline to take this old mind for daily renewal so that all residues of the old are constantly wiped away by the overriding power of the Word. Help me Jesus. Amen.’
