Genesis 20:16 (NKJV)

‘Then to Sarah he said, “Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver; indeed this vindicates you before all who are with you and before everybody.” Thus she was rebuked.’

I am very impressed with the sincerity and the integrity of Abimelech. Despite having not known Sarah was Abraham’s wife and despite having not touched her, yet he gave livestock and a thousand pieces of silver as a vindication and rebuke for Sarah. He needed not pay anything, but he was going the extra mile to pay for what he did not do; to both vindicate Sarah before everyone as well as a rebuke for their deception.

May we go the extra mile to prove our innocence. This may not be appreciated by Men, but God sees our hearts and intentions. We must be able to clearly show that our innocence is complete and our integrity is intact.

‘I pray that I will do all within my power to be as transparent as possible, to validate my innocence and prove my righteousness; not as a show but as a witness to Jesus. Amen.’
