THE POWER OF WEEPING

Genesis 21:16-17 (NKJV)

“…for she said to herself, ‘Let me not see the death of the boy.’ So she sat opposite him, and lifted her voice and wept. And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, ‘What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad…’”

Learn to weep. Don’t be silent. Your situation may not be able to weep for itself. The ache and pain of others may depend on your weeping. Though the lad must have been crying, it was however not recorded. The Bible only recorded that she wept, and it produced the result needed.

Weeping opens heavens’ heart for a situation. Personal weeping moves God’s heart. Weeping is a critical tool in intercession. Weeping produces results. Weep for yourself. Weep for your family. Weep for those about to die of thirst.

“Oh Lord, deliver me from the syndrome of dry eyes. May I not be content and happy while chaos, disaster, carnage and plunder roams my world. Oh God, fill my heart with the pains that fill Your heart and cause my eyes to weep for my world before total devastation takes over. This I ask, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
