CURING BARRENNESS

July 11, 2017

Genesis 25:21 (NKJV)

“Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife, because she was barren; and the Lord granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.”

Not every man is a real husband and not every man understands what it takes to be a correct spouse. One primary function of a real man is to deliver his wife from barrenness. God knew Rebekah was barren but still brought her to Isaac. So Rebekah’s “weakness” was not a mystery to God; however, God waited for her husband to do the needful before He would heal her.

Intercede for your wife. Plead to God concerning her barrenness. God can heal her without you, but God has chosen to limit Himself by the role we play as husbands. It is important we don’t simply discuss and analyze her barrenness. As men, we must arise to do whatever is necessary to break the power of impotence in our wives; and prayer is the best place to start. Your wife’s fruitfulness is connected to you & your fruitfulness is connected to her. Through marriage, the two have become one, hence solving your wife’s barrenness will ultimately & inadvertently lead to your fruitfulness.

I pray our women can also see and embrace this simple truth.

“O God, open our eyes to see that both man and wife have interwoven destinies and their fruitfulness are interlinked. Teach Your people to labor hard to ensure their spouses are not caged in any form of barrenness. Teach men to work on and for their wives rather than berate and criticize them for their lack of fruitfulness. Do this for our generation of men O Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
