Genesis 30:27 (NKJV)
“And Laban said to him, ‘Please stay, if I have found favor in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.’”
Laban was being brutally honest by admitting that his blessings from God were because of Jacob’s presence. He did not have to be pretentious, and he confessed it openly because he arrived at that conclusion through rational analysis. Even Jacob knew this and exclaimed, “what you had before I came was little, and it has increased to a great amount; the Lord has blessed you since my coming…”- verse 30.
We need to identify and value the key players on our teams. Not everyone brings the same level of influence and leverage on what we do. We don’t demean everyone and we shouldn’t, but we can’t place everyone on the same pedestal. Protect, preserve and promote your critical assets. Do all you can to keep them satisfied and fruitful. Your prosperity and success are directly linked to their remaining on your team.
“I know who some of these key players are around me and I know I cannot function as expected or enter into all of God’s plans for my life without them. I recommit to support, nourish and affirm these persons, beginning with my beloved wife. Amen.”
