Genesis 32:1-2 (NKJV)
“So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him. When Jacob saw them, he said, ‘This is God’s camp.’ And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.”
A simple reading of the Scriptures shows a regular interaction of angels with the children of men. But why don’t we experience such an interaction today? Or is it that they still do appear, but we are unable to perceive and receive them?
As Jacob went on his way, the Angels of God met him. It almost sounds like a regular encounter of friends. And the great thing was that Jacob could identify them. I don’t think they had wings sticking out of their shoulders neither did they wear bright shining apparel; but Jacob could discern them.
“O Lord, I don’t believe You have changed. Open the eyes of my understanding to see the Angels You daily send around my life; not that they will add any special benefits to my life but that I may be reminded that You have surrounded me with these servant spirits of Yours. Amen.”
