Genesis 34:5 (NKJV).
“And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter. Now his sons were with his livestock in the field; so Jacob held his peace until they came.’
The strength of a man is his team. Jacob heard what happen but was not quick to react because of the absence of his team – his sons. He needed to consult with them; he needed to inform them; he needed their thoughts on the next line of action.
A leader leads with his team. A leader makes decisions with his team. Your strength is determined by the power of the men around you. God builds a man by giving him strong men around him. Jacob was undoubtedly hurt and could have reacted wrongly – but he waited for his team.
Work with your team and make your family an integral part of that team. Critical decisions must never be carried out without the prior consultation with your core leadership team.
“Thank You, Lord, for giving me a trusted and wise team of leaders. Thank You, Lord, for this special grace. I pray that I will be a good leader who consults and discusses more than one who drives the vision alone and according to my personal burdens and passions. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.””
