THE NON-CONFORMIST

September 18, 2017

Genesis 37:2 (NKJV).

“…and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.”

Nobody likes a spoiler in the group, and Joseph was a spoiler indeed. He could not flow with the others. It was hard for Joseph to see wrong and be silent about it. I can imagine that he may have tried to correct them but being the baby in the group, I doubt his opinion counted for much. This may have necessitated his informing his dad about the wrong doings among the siblings.

Don’t conform to the group image or group motto, if the team is headed in the wrong direction. Yes, people may consider you a spoiler, but we must be spoilers to those who choose a path of evil. We cannot conform, and we must not conform. But we must also be ready for the backlash that always comes to non-conformists.

It happened to Joseph. It’ll happen to you. That’s the price of non-conformity.

“Lord, I am a non-conformist, and I choose not to conform to anything that is against righteousness. I will stand alone if necessary for the sake of Truth. Please give me the strength I need to speak up and refuse to tow the line of evil. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
