BE THE LONE VOICE

September 23, 2017

Genesis 37:21 (NKJV)

“But Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands, and said, ‘Let us not kill him.’”

When you hear your team members and friends plotting evil against an innocent soul, you should be that lone voice that begs to differ and who goes against the prevailing opinion. It’s a hard thing to do, but we must be strong to stand for the needy and the weak. In the secret discussions where the fate of others are being discussed, be known for your stand for justice and truth. You’ll be unpopular, but you just may save some lives and destinies by your firm stand.

Thank God that Reuben spoke up because had it not been his voice, Joseph would have been outrightly butchered by his brethren and Joseph’s great destiny would have been aborted. Because Reuben spoke, Joseph lived. And because Joseph lived, all the family of Israel survived the famine. So in doing what he did, Reuben also saved his life without knowing it.

Be the lone voice. Protect the innocent.

“I will not be intimidated to be silent Lord. Even if no one else believes me, make my face strong to face all oppositions to righteousness. I will not support any arrangement that scuttles justice and perpetuates oppression. In Your name, I stand. Amen.”
