Genesis 41:25 (NKJV) 

“Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, ‘The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do:’”

God knows the end from the beginning, and He sometimes decides to unveil the secrets of the future to the sons of Men. Interesting to note that God does not only reveal these future glimpses to the Saints, but He also shows it to unbelievers. Prophetic dreams are dreams that show you the things that are yet to happen in the future, and God usually shows these prophetic revelations to prepare us for the future. There are things God is about to do or about to allow Satan do, and He sometimes in His mercy allows us to see them in advance.

Take every dream seriously. Earnestly seek its interpretation. God may be speaking about your future and failure to discern this could lead to catastrophic consequences. Imagine if Pharaoh had gotten a wrong interpretation for his dreams or worse still if Pharaoh had not taken the dream seriously? Egypt would have collapsed simply from natural hazards that could have been managed. Not every disaster needs to be fulfilled.

Listening to God speak may just be that safety net needed to break the devastating fall coming our way. 

“I know Lord, that You are speaking through dreams. I pray that I will always have the ability to discern my dreams as well those of the people around me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
