Genesis 41:33-34 (NKJV)
“Now therefore, let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt. Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land…”
Understanding and describing a problem is half the problem solved because unless the problem is properly analyzed, you cannot get the solution. Problem-solving, therefore, must logically begin with accurately identifying the problem. But unfortunately, that’s where many of the problem-solvers stop. The second half and the critical half of the job is proffering the correct solutions to solve the problems. Knowing a problem and not having a solution is not going to get people very far.
Joseph was asked to interpret a dream, but he didn’t stop there. He went further to proffer comprehensive solutions for the problem. That is wisdom. That is strategic thinking. That is problem-solving.
So like Joseph, don’t be a problem analyst; be a problem-solver. Look critically at the problem; understand the problem. Then think deep and seek God for the solution. The solution to Man’s problems are not in new systems and new machinery and new protocols; the solution is in finding the right men to execute the solutions; finding wise and discerning people.
“O Lord, make me a problem-solver because our world is riddled with problems. May I stay deeply connected to You Jesus because that is the only way You can breathe in me, the skillset and divine wisdom needed to solve people’s problems. Amen.”
