Genesis 43:33-34 (NKJV)
“And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright and the youngest according to his youth…Then he took servings to them from before him, but Benjamin’s serving was five times as much as any of theirs…”
Your rank in the line of birth does not determine your portion in life. So many people feel that the firstborns usually get undue privileges as the firstborn, but that is only in the thinking of Man. What God has ordained for each man is the portion that will come to him, and this is according to the level of endearment such a man has with the Lord.
Benjamin was ranked least in the seating arrangement and yet because of Joseph’s filial affection for him; he got five times more food than any of his brothers got – even more than the first born. It was clear that his position as last in the row was not an obstacle for him to get his abundance.
Your abundance is not tied to your place in the food chain. Your abundance is linked to God showing affection and favor on you. In all your getting, therefore, endeavor to win the heart of your Lord and Master, in whose hands dwell all that you need for life and godliness.
“Yes, Lord. In Your hands are all that I need for life and godliness. My fate is in Your hands, and my prosperity is according to Your will for my life. May my goal in life ever be to please You, for therein also lie the key to my abundance. Amen.”
