PROVIDE FOR YOUR FAMILY

Genesis 47:11 (NKJV)

“And Joseph situated his father and his brothers, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land…”

It’s good to be generous to all people, but it is essential to be generous to your own nuclear and extended family. If you don’t have the ability, that is understandable but if you have the resources, then invest in making your family comfortable.

Joseph was lord of Egypt, and with Pharaoh’s blessings, he situated his family in the best of Egypt. He understood that God had given him these privileges and resources not only for himself and his nuclear family but also for the larger extended family.

Why should your family suffer in the famine when you have the opportunity to assist them? Why should your resources serve other needy people meanwhile your family languishes in need, but you don’t provide for them? The Bible says such a man is an infidel. Reject that title by ensuring you provide for your family.

“I choose not to be ashamed to help my family. I have helped many others, and I will help my family also with the grace and favors You have brought to me. This is what You expect of me, and I will fulfill my duty, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
