Matthew 1:21-23 (NKJV)
“’…and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’ So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying…they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, ‘God with us.’”
Praise God for the fulfillment of prophecy, for every prophetic word of the Lord shall surely come to pass. The prophetic words were accomplished concerning Jesus Emmanuel, not just in the birth of Jesus the Son of God, but in the continued fulfillment of prophecy by Jesus even to His people.
Jesus’ dual prophetic calling was to save His people from sin and to bring God to the reach of man. Thankfully today, Jesus is fulfilling both dual prophetic roles by continuing to save His people and by making the Almighty real and reachable to us all. All praise to Jesus, our Emmanuel, who for the joy that was set before Him (the joy of seeing the sins of His people washed away and the joy of seeing God indwelled in humankind and embraced by humanity), He nudged the cross and fulfilled His ministries to His people.
“All worship Your holy name Jesus, for You are our Emmanuel, our God who is with us and never leaves us nor forsakes us. You are our atoner and atonement, satisfying in Your body, the full wrath of God that was earmarked for us. All praise to Your holy name, forever and ever. Amen.”
