WISE WORSHIPPERS

Matthew 2:2 (NKJV)

“saying, ‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.’”

Here was the irony: the wise men were supposed to be wise and follow a star that would bring them from the lands of the East to worship the King of the Jews. Why would wise men from the East leave the worship of the kings of the East to come to work the King of the Jews? That does not seem like a wise thing to do. Yet, that was the opening of the prophetic door proclaiming wise nations and peoples would do what seems foolish in the eyes of the wise: worship a child from Bethlehem who is supposed to be a King of the Jews. Now, is that foolishness or wisdom?

But it has come to pass, that the nations of the earth today come to worship Jesus, who because of their worship confess that He is not only King of the Jews but King of the Nations. Even as a child Jesus was worshipped by wise men from the East; even as a child, Jesus was already crowned King of the nations.

“Lord, You are Lord of the nations, Lord of the world. Though many still refuse to acknowledge You as King of the nations, we know that You are ordained to be so. We join the wise of the world to bow in worship with the men of the East, and we leave the foolish to remain standing thinking they are wise. Amen.”
