SIMPLICITY SIMPLY IMPACTS

Matthew 3:4 (NKJV)

“Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.”

John was such a powerful and great prophet, but he was also an incredibly simple man. Now, not everyone may have the type of John the Baptist ministry, but it’s good to see how God could use him so powerfully, in the midst of his simplicity. He did not wear fancy clothes. He did not have an extravagant diet (although nutritionists say it was a healthy meal plan). Despite the apparent odds against him, God worked graciously and wonderfully through this man.

Oh, how we need to return to the simplicity of ministry! Ministry has become too complicated in our generation, and we spend so much money on funding ministry issues that were not critical for God to show up in any community. God is the key to the ministry, and with God, transformation will happen, even without all our complicated gadgets and systems. May we return to the simplicity of being salt and light, under the evident power of the Most High God.

“Lord, make my heart relish and embrace simplicity more than ever before. Lord, may I focus on having You and You alone as the key to successfully transforming those around me. Deliver me from complicated strategies and a complicated lifestyle. This I pray Lord, in Your name. Amen.”
