Matthew 3:17 (NKJV)
“And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’”
The supposed baptism of the Holy Spirit and every other spiritual experience is invalid and meaningless if God’s verdict on your life is not the same verdict as that voice from heaven testifying of Jesus. Jesus had not started ministry neither had He done anything for the Kingdom, yet God’s verdict concerning Him was, “In whom I am well pleased.” God was very pleased with the life of Jesus, not just the ministry of Jesus. In Jesus, was the very nature of God and that nature was the pleasure of God to behold. This was the center point.
So forget about all your grand ministry or secular plans. Forget about all your great indices to measure your success or prosperity in your professional or ministry career. What’s the center point of life? Only one thing counts to God at the end of the day, and that’s that we bear His nature before men. Success must be in pleasing God, and God cannot be satisfied by a life that contradicts His nature.
“Lord, thank You for reminding me again about what really counts in Your grand scheme of things. Thank You for placing this center point in the center point of all I do. My greatest ambition is to receive from You, the same verdict You gave my Master Jesus. Help my heart to stay focused on this Lord, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.”
