Matthew 4:16 (NKJV)
“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”
Jesus was the light and is still light. When Jesus appeared on the scene, God’s light was evident. It was not what He did that mattered but who He was. He was the light. The people who sat in darkness and the regions of death saw something, and it marveled them.
This is what our lives ought to be about. People ought to be able to see the light beaming forth from our spirits, and the light should be so evident that it will convict and confront the darkness. Ministry first and foremost is the lifestyle of light. Real ministry is being faithful to the God of Light as He shines forth naturally through us, into the world around us. An acrimonious spirit cannot bring conviction to our generation. And our generation desperately needs the conviction of light.
May His light beam ever brightly from our spirits in Jesus name.
“Lord, that is the cry of my heart. O Lord, how I desire that Your light will naturally shine forth, even without my knowing it. How I pray that Jesus will make Himself known by the power of His life, forcefully confronting darkness around me. Lord, may my ministry be that of bright light shining and oozing out of my life. This I pray in Jesus name. Amen.”
