SURROUNDED CORRECTLY

Matthew 4:19-20 (NKJV)

“Then He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ They immediately left their nets and followed Him.”

Jesus is interested in building a team to multiply and reproduce His vision. To do this, He needed a team of spiritually focused men into whom He could pour Himself.  To get the right caliber of people, He needed to be spiritually discerning and spiritually charged enough to command this grade of men to leave everything and follow Him. Your success in life is connected to the types of people you surround yourself with, and for Jesus, He knew He couldn’t afford to make a mistake on this.

Who do you surround yourself with? Who are your pillars in the ministry God has entrusted to you? Are you sufficiently spiritually charged to bring together the right grade of people? Are you deliberately pouring into them? Jesus’ vision was to fish for men, yet He knew that He couldn’t accomplish this without the right team around Him. So build your team. Invest in them today. Make them your priority.

“Lord, help me pour into those whom You have given me to serve together. Surround me with the right types of people. Grant me the spiritual content to command the followership of the right grade of people. Always remind me, Lord, that the success of my ministry, is indelibly tied to the success of the men surrounding me. Deliver me from frivolous and careless men and give me people who can carry the burden You’ve given me. This I crave for in Jesus name. Amen.”
